I have talked a few times about how honored I am to be an ambassador for The San Fransisco Marathon. I truly do love the event, love the course and loved every experience I have had being a part of their family.
One of the things that I really love and respect about this marathon is your ability to turn your running into running for a good cause; and it is not limited to their local area causes. Thanks to CrowdRise and The SF Marathon you can find you can find the cause closest to your heart and turn your efforts in San Fransisco into cash for a good cause.
In my case, this is allowing me to bring being a Charity Athlete for the Seattle Humane Society to the forefront. After working with them last year; I realized how important their program is. I came to them to raise funds in honor of George, but after talking to all the team there. This is one of their biggest fundraising events and a majority of the money raised by their athletes goes right into animal care. I am honored to be working with them on the social media side this year to get the word out about what they are doing.
I will always run in honor of George. There is no way in words that I can say the impact that crazy dog has in my life at the time I needed this the most. But I will continue to peruse helping the animals in any way I can.
